Sherri Shepherd
Sherri Shepherd Sherri Shepherd, an American actress, comedian writer, author and television show host, was born April 22nd, 1967 in Chicago. She is the daughter of LaVerne and Lawrence Shepherd. Her father was a deacon at the church of the family. She also managed restaurants, while her mother was cleaning homes. Shepherd is the third oldest of three children. Shepherd went to Hoffman High School. She was employed as an Beverly Hills legal secretary and started stand-up comedy. After being chosen to be a part of "Cleghorne" which was a brief-lived comedy about entertainment, she took the decision to quit her job and pursue a career as entertainer. The show aired for one season on The WB network in 1995. Shepherd was in financial trouble because of the show's cancellation and had to live in friends' homes for a year as she sought out more work.In 1996, she was cast on Jaime Foxx's sitcom "The Jaime Foxx Show," which she was a cast member on until 2001. In the mid-90s she also got regular roles on "Suddenly Susan" (now "Everybody Loves Raymond")
